Russian “Instagram celebrity” Irina Goncharova has taught her slow loris how to pole dance. Or at least, how to spin successfully — and balance upside-down — which is no mean feat when you’re a furry animal and thus not naturally able to gain much traction.

Ruptly, a video news network subsidiary of Russia Today, explains that slow lorises are becoming popular pets in Russia because of their “large eyes and cute behavior.” Obviously that “cute behavior” doesn’t traditionally involve working the pole, but we live in a world where viral videos are currency, and much more currency than a dollar or five slipped in a twirling slow loris’s fruity underwear. Ruptly titles the compiled clips as “maybe the cutest thing you’ll see all day,” but another apt adjective could be saddest, really.
